FBI conducted six-year surveillance
of activist press based on bogus threat

The FBI kept an antiwar media organization under surveillance for six years, citing a false claim that an editor for the group had threatened a cyber attack on the bureau, the Guardian is reporting.

Internal documents show that the FBI’s monitoring of antiwar.com, a news and commentary website critical of U.S. policies, was spurred by the bureau assessing that the antiwar group represented a national security "threat" based on the spurious hacking claim, the Guardian says,
