Well, friends of the NSA need something to bash him with.
So Paul's speechwriters were a little undisciplined. Tchh tchh. But Paul was making political points, not writing academic treatises. We are very well aware that the bail-out-the-NSA crowd isn't interested in being rational, only with stoking up phony hysteria just long enough to derail the NSA reform bill co-sponsored by the libertarian Republican from Kentucky and Patrick Leahy, the liberal Democrat from Vermont.
Certain segments of the media, such as CBS, are clearly playing favorites on the side of the NSA and against Paul.
Ride it out, Senator. The Great Footnote Scandal is nothing by comparison with President Obama's gigantic box of whoppers and con games.
