Double standard on leaks
dogs Obama White House

President Obama and his attorney general find themselves in a melee over national security leaks, with Republicans calling for a special counsel investigation of leaks favorable to Obama and liberals and libertarians condemning administration maneuvers to have Julian Assange brought to the United States to face leaks charges.

Attorney General Eric Holder has been resisting calls for a special counsel probe of leaks of national security information concerning Obama's counterterror operations and, according to leaked information, has been diligently overseeing a national security case being prepared against Assange, a founder of Wikileaks, which has disseminated documents showing that government routinely deceives the public. Assange is to be extradited to Sweden to be questioned by a woman prosecutor concerned about Assange purportedly having unprotected sex with two women.

The Obama administration had sent strong diplomatic signals that it wanted the Swedes to make an issue of the Assange matter, and Assange fears that the Swedes will deport him to the United States as soon as the "questioning" is over.
