Control freaks unplugged... for now

Aussies shelve net nanny, for now. Labor Party leaders haven't disavowed their push for mandatory, government-controlled internet censorship. The decision comes amid furious opposition by the Green Party, the Pirate Party and free speech defenders.
Just a short time ago, Prime Minister Rudd's successor,  Gillard , defended a supposed need to have the government, rather than parentally operated filter systems, protect children from internet nastiness.
